The countdown is on with Christmas only four days away. Where did the time go? During the past few weeks my studio resembled Santa’s workshop and many late nights were spent knitting (yes, knitting!) gifts for family members.
These gifts are done – they are wrapped and ready to get packed into the car shortly! I even did a little bit of baking and sent off the Christmas e-letters yesterday . Today (there is nothing like a deadline…) I completed two gifts, a special surprise for my husband (sorry I can’t elaborate – but he checks the blog regularly) and a shawl for myself. This is the third lace triangle shawl I have knitted since October and I think it will become a favourite part of my wardrobe very quickly. The images in the slideshow provide you with the full view and several details – I just had to share!
I found the free pattern on Ravelry. It is referred to as the Bitterroot Shawl, designed by Romi, the author of Elements of Style: Knit & Crochet Jewelry with Wire, Fiber Felt and Beads. I used Poems Sockyarn (75 % Superwash Wool/25 % Nylon) by Wisdom Yarns, 100 g/420m. I used approximately 1 1/2 balls. The yarn was easy to knit up and after washing and blocking it feels soft and light as a feather. I used 4 mm needles and the final measurements are 44″ x 80″ wide – perfect for wrapping yourself up in on a chilly winter’s day.
Wishing all of you a wonderful Holiday Season. Provided I have internet connection I will post between Boxing Day and New Year’s as I have some exciting news to share for 2012!
Happy Holidays and may all your wishes come true!
Anna, I like your new blog – very bright, love the color of the photos — great job.
Wishing you a Very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.
