My favorite studio companion is my little dog – and her most coveted place is in the middle of my sheers. This image was taken while I was working on several exhibition pieces in 2011. With the radiant floor heat and the sheer “cloud” Lucky was in 7th heaven!
Enough reminiscing about my studio space. Last week Betsey from upstate New York emailed to share that she was following this blog. Images posted here inspired Betsey to challenge herself with her own studio space. She already emailed me photos of her space now and I decided to issue the challenge to any of you wanting to make a change in your personal workspace. No matter what your dreams and aspirations let’s connect and explore possible improvements to our spaces.
Today I am issuing the official studio/workspace challenge and here is how YOU can participate:
1. Take several images of your space now and send them to me (make sure they are no larger than 1 MB). Please don’t worry about tidying or cleaning!
2. Tell me in an email what you envision and what your realistic time frame is for these changes. <anna@annahergert.com>
3. On or just before June 15th, 2012 take images of your space once more and send them to me. This provides you with 4 months to move furniture, sort boxes and discard or recycle. Don’t worry about not accomplishing everything you have on your list. Any change is great and will get you closer to your dream space.
I will post your images on the blog and the readers will vote on the most improved studio space. I will select three yards of hand-dyed fabric for the the winner of most improved creative workspace.
Tell me what you think and leave your comments! I can’t wait to hear from you. Happy Sunday, everyone!
Gorgeous pic. of “Lucky”….would make an amazing painting!

Wow, I am delighted to have inspired this challenge! I hope others will join me in re-thinking their space and jump starting their creativity. Let’s share ideas and suggestions as we do this.
Warmly,
