It’s time… time to pack and move on after five days of exploring Toronto, catching up with family and friends and best of all, filling the proverbial well!
The week was filled with adventures and included visits to the feature exhibition of Picasso at the Ontario Art Gallery, the Textile Museum, the ROM, the Toronto Bead Society Show and much walking. Today’s images are from the Royal Ontario Museum. I love the modern architecture of the ROM juxtaposing the original building! The small textile gallery at the ROM has an exciting exhibition space showcasing work from the archives which were very informative to me and my ongoing research.
The Ancient Egyptian section always showcases wonderful treasures – I was not disappointed when I discovered the mummies of a cat and two hawks wrapped in linen strips creating well-known patchwork designs.
It’s now time to pack my suitcase and prepare for my flight to Halifax and Quilt Canada 2012. I will be connecting with many of you either in workshops, during meals or visiting various exhibits.
Thanks to everyone who made time to connect and made me feel so welcome! I shall be back soon!!!
