Art Brownies, anyone???

When my inbox in late March revealed a call for entry for “Art Brownies” I was intrigued. A few mouse clicks revealed that this international exhibition was open to mixed media artists and that it was taking place in Toronto from July 28th – August 31st, 2012.

I realized immediately that by submitting my website the interested artists would be juried, establishing some standards. An entry fee to cover the wooden blocks (upon we were to create) and shipping was fair.

I received my art brownie blocks mid-May and set out to create my four entries based on my strong interest in photography combining it with stitch. The theme for 2012 is Rainbow. I chose my ice images once again as I see a rainbow every time I look through an icicle and witness the refracting light. The four small pieces measuring approximately 2.5″ square were hand-delivered to the INDEXG gallery while visiting Toronto in late May. And yes, they are for sale.

The exhibition opened officially yesterday and I wish I could be in Toronto to witness how they are received. Drop by INDEX G located at 50 Gladstone Avenue if you are living in or visiting Toronto between now and August 31st. Let me know what you think!

Once again you have proven just how talented you are. Jealous and striving to improve.
