… Capturing a Sunset to Remember.
I promised a few posts ago that I would share more images from my Emma Lake photography session. These sunset moments were captured on July 21st.
When artists gather at Emma Lake the tradition dictates evening fires at the beach. The painters that week gathered after dinner every night, shared stories and wine and gazed out over the lake. In the past I would take part in these informal gatherings but with photography sessions carrying well into the evening I opted for an early bedtime. The 4 a. m. alarm could not be ignored…
On Friday night our group presented a mini exhibition with printed images and a slide show of about 160 images compiled and set to music. This meant that the evening shoot was cancelled. Instead, we ventured to the fire pit, camera in hand. The unexpected color display that unfolded before our eyes was breathtaking. The transition from pale light to gold to copper and blue reflecting in the calm lake cannot be described appropriately. I am so happy I was able to capture these moments with my camera.
Enjoy the slideshow and remember: None of these images were altered in Photoshop – I merely re-sized them for faster upload/download speed. Happy end of July!
Those of you looking for the artlet update – I am away relaxing and quilting with friends for a few days and don’t have my set up to capture the July artlets. Once I get home I will be photographing July’s results and posting them. Thanks for your patience.
