…but there is quite a bit going on in the studio these days! I started setting up tables and chairs yesterday, prepared design forks and gathered general supplies in anticipation for this year’s design classes. Two separate groups will gather once a month (Friday and Saturday) for the next three months to explore design.
I have been in touch with every participant and the excitement is building… not just with the participants. I am looking forward to what will transpire very soon – each person will bring a design source of their choice, the common theme: Living Forms.
It was not an easy decision to open my private studio to facilitate workshops, however I succumbed to pressure a little over a year ago. A couple of quilting friends approached me to teach design, I considered it, started to advertise… and filled the class within two weeks. During the mini exhibition of these student’s work last June so many people signed up that I am running two classes this winter.
Students will come from near and far: North Battleford, Saskatoon, Regina, Alameda, Tugaske, Moose Jaw and Sun Valley – which is located just down the road from my studio. We had a blizzard last week, so I am hopeful that this weekend will bring good travel days and maybe even sunshine.
On with my day… there is paint to gather, hand outs to organize and loose ends to tie! Can’t wait to welcome everyone to the studio soon!
I’m looking forward to the student show in the spring and some sneak peaks of the classes in the next few months.

Oh, jealous! I bet your students are excited!! But I will be one soon… in Italy!!! How is your workshop this summer going?

Yes, Theresa! Italy is for sure going ahead, we have five students confirmed – but there is always room for more! Art Quilt Camp in August near Saskatoon has nine students registered and confirmed so far, the maximum number I accept is 12. This will ensure maximum interaction with each participant. Excitement is building…

Wow, I can’t believe a year has passed Anna. What I experienced and learned in the design class has so vividly remained with me and influenced how I look at nature. I have continued to add pictures to my “inspiration” folder. Looking forward to the June open house!
