It’s a day for reflection, preparation for class and a desire to share. Monday morning I corresponded with my photography teacher from last summer. John Perret recently put together a wonderful video with stills that he uploaded to UTube. I have watched it several times already and thought of all in need for some color and a promise of warmth and the summer ahead. Here is the link:
I recognized many vistas, the amazing light and the pristine landscape we have in this province. John is a master at landscape photography and a wonderful teacher and mentor. I feel so fortunate to have had the opportunity to study under him.
Yesterday a friend and former student forwarded a power point presentation of macro and close up photography. I am sure it has made the rounds and many of you might have seen it before. Time stood still for me while I was mesmerized by each and every image. (The link below has a download attached. Please be patient while the 6.3 MB download for your viewing pleasure. It is worth the wait!)
This assemblage of images left me humbled and at the same time very excited: I felt humility because I realize that I have a long way to go before I can make and share such images. I felt excited because there is so much to learn and there is never be a dull moment when exploring nature.
Life – a journey of discovery, every moment of every day!
Greetings from Idaho! I’m bored to tears at work so I decided to check out your blog on my iphone during lunch break. I enjoy the knowledge you provide here and can’t
wait to take a look when I get home. I’m surprised at how fast your blog loaded on my mobile .. I’m not even using WIFI, just 3G .
. Anyhow, superb blog!

Those macro photos were stunning and awe inspiring. Oh what I wouldn’t give to be able to not only take pictures like that, but to recognize a photo op when it presents itself.

Renate, I feel your envy … I also wish I could capture images like that. When it comes to recognizing them I know one needs patience, time and practice. Three things I need to find more of.
