Spring has arrived in full force at the lake. The trees surrounding my studio are in full leaf and best of all… Buffalo Pound Lake is free of ice!

We returned from three weeks on the road late Sunday night. I knew immediately that the rumors were true – lights reflecting in the water across the lake could only mean one thing: Spring is here! Better late than never… All I had to do was go away for a little while.

I spent most of the day yesterday reacquainting myself with the studio, looking ahead and making plans for the next big event: The 4th Annual Studio Open House Event in June. Help us welcome summer from June 21st – 23rd, 2013. The studio will be open Friday, June 21st from noon till 9 pm, Saturday, June 22nd from 10 a. m. till 6 p. m. and Sunday, June 23rd from 10 a. m. till 3 p. m.

This year 17 students’ will have work on display. I am meeting with everyone this coming weekend to answer last minute questions and assist with advice if it is needed. I am getting very excited to see what everyone has been working on.

Once again, I have invited two local artists to have their work on display and for sale. Glenda Loustel will bring her fused glass creations and Bill Kruse will have a sampling of his photography and framing set up.

If you live within driving distance make sure to mark your calendar for that weekend. Don’t live close enough for a day’s drive? Make a weekend of it and spend some time at the Temple Gardens Mineral Spa in Moose Jaw and explore the surroundings.

And yes, there will be another dessert buffet for those who visit. Coffee and tea is always on. Cold, refreshing lemonade will be made fresh throughout the weekend. Have I piqued your interest? Great – mark the calendar and round up your friends for an outing that will not disappoint.
