This is installment # two of four covering the night photography sessions I worked through during July and into early August. The topic during week 2 was light painting. The only tools I needed were a flashlight covered with a colored flash gel.
We didn’t venture far from home to get these assignments completed. Blending a couple of images in Photoshop for extra points became more of a challenge. My blended image is of the moving garden sculpture in green with purple undertones.
I think you can tell – I was having a lot of fun! Enjoy the slide show.
What intriguing ideas — to use a coloured gel over a flashlight. Fun indeed.

I didn’t have colored gels when I first started the course. I used some clear acetate I had around, cut into smaller pieces and colored these with permanent pen. I was pleasantly surprised. So simple yet such great effects.
