Enjoying some downtime?

image 1

Every year between Christmas and New Years I spend time reflecting and projecting. It is not much different this year.

Christmas 2013 was extra special because I got to share it with my friend Elinor. We talked, we baked, we cooked, we ate, we had tea and even managed to spend a day in the studio. And you know what happens when you spend time with a like-minded creative person: We came up with a great challenge for 2014… you have to check in on January 1st, 2014 to get the details. As we asked ourselves: “Why keep this challenge just between us?” the decision was struck to invite all of you to take part!

I know, I know – your interest is keen but… let’s just see this year to an end and enjoy friends and family. Look around your studio to familiarize yourself with your supplies. Part of the challenge will involve using what you have in your stash…

And while you are at that why not check out a fantastic blog I heard much about and neglected to visit for a while… Britex Fabrics has a blog that is worth signing up for. Go to this link and check it out for yourself – there are hints and projects galore. Sign up for the notifications (there is a box in the upper left hand corner). Have fun browsing and creating!

    • Thank you so much, Shirley! A heartfelt wish like yours’ is never late. I so appreciate you thinking of me. The year ahead is filling up already but I am striving for more balance when it comes to time on the road and time spent in the studio! I also think of you often and wish we still lived down the road from one another! It’s time for another visit from you in 2014… think about it and let’s see if we can make it a reality.

A very happy New Year to you and Colin, sounds as if you had the best Xmas. I will soon be off to Ecuador for 3 months and am looking forward to your challenge and hoping I can work on it there. Thank you Anna for all you have taught me this year, your help and inspiration and I look forward to seeing you at CQA. I too am planning an artlet a day for the coming year. Wish me luck!
