It’s snowing outside – and the sun is shining at the same time. Without looking at the calendar I know that April is nearly here, and with it the even more unpredictable weather has arrived.
I am undaunted by this: My carry-on is packed and I am about to depart for the airport to fly to Winnipeg. I am so excited! First I get to connect with good friends, tomorrow I will spend with my co-judge Marilyn Wiebe. We will assess and critique well over 100 quilts while we determine category winners and special achievements. And I get to meet up for dinner with my friend Elaine Quehl who is this year’s featured teacher and banquet presenter.
It will be two days full of color, warmth and friendship for me – just what is need when the weather decides to return to winter at home. I will not be able to stay for the actual quilt show. By the time the doors open to the public I will be at the airport to board my flight home. If you live in Winnipeg or within driving distance from the city make sure to put Quilt Reflections on your calendar for the weekend. It will be time well spent!
Enjoy your trip to my hometown. We are in the midst of a weather bomb. Trying to do some quilting while the power is still on.
