Just when I thought I was getting a handle on navigating the internet another learning opportunity comes along. Yesterday was the day I was ready to upload my book “Discover the Ancient Art of Kantha” to the Collections Canada Library and Archives site. A first attempt pointed out a slight oversight on my part regarding the ISBN, but the second try was soon successful.
This morning I received the most polite congratulatory email containing receipt of my book, reference numbers and information a published author needs for his/her records. My hear skipped a beat when I read the following words:
“…I am pleased to let you know that the PDF format of your e-book Discover the Ancient Art of KANTHA is now archived in Library and Archives Canada’s Electronic Collection… Thank you very much Ms. Hergert for your very important contribution and wishing you all the best.
Sincerely,
Pierre Trudel

I know, I know – it was pretty much a form letter but it made my day none-the-less.
Colin and I are still trying to set up a secure order site where we link a PayPal button with my blog which I updated last week to an official domain and a premier site. Has anyone noticed: the pesky ads are no longer adorning the bottom of each post!
I could wait with offering the book via links, however, I have decided to sweeten your Easter early: Here is a link to more information on how you can purchase a copy of “Discover the Ancient Art of Kantha” now. The link will take you to another page that contains a free preview of the book.
I would like to thank those involved in the editing process and proof-reading. Everyone’s feedback was very much appreciated.
For those waiting for a printed version of the book – research and price comparisons continue. I will keep everyone posted on my progress as I learn more.
I would like to order your e-book on Kantha. Also, would you please email me as to where I can find turban cloth and silk embroidery thread? Thank you.Judy Clements

Thanks, Dorothy – but I wasn’t planning on writing another book anytime soon. I need to get back to my own work and give the sewing machine a good workout.

Glad you still treasure your book. It has been out of print since last December. This new edition is greatly expanded with all the patterns and stitches from my master folder passed around in class in Halifax. I also included an expanded gallery and extensive glossary. Only the cover remains the same…
