…it is a good time to point you into the direction of this year’s TrendTex Challenge organized by the CQA/ACC Vice President Jackie White. If you are not familiar with the challenge: Every year the current vice president of the Canadian Quilter Association selects and organizes the popular TrendTex Challenge. Quilters send in a nominal fee to cover shipping and basic cost and soon thereafter receives a manila envelope with 5 fat quarters. This year the theme is “Modern Ways” with was very appropriate considering the fabric choices.
I wasn’t going to miss out again, like last year. I ordered my fabric package as soon as it was advertised (actually my friend Berna made sure I wouldn’t forget…). I started on my piece in later December and finished by early January. I combined traditional techniques with modern fabrics and concepts and was quite pleased with the outcome. The images above feature my contribution to this worthwhile fundraiser in support of CQA/ACC.
All finished entries will be hung at Quilt Canada 2014 at Brock University in St. Catharines next month. I can’t wait to see them all as a cohesive exhibition. For those of you who would like to sneak a peak, here is the link to the webpage showcasing entries from across Canada.
I love the motto!!! And the quilt!!!
