Time to Mark Your Calendars

DSC_0001Remember this image? This shows the way I used to set up my studio for the annual open studio event. These days I take the opportunity to showcase other artists, including my graduating design students.

2014 will have 20 students exhibiting – the largest number ever. Colin has been busy augmenting the number of display stands he built last year. And I am busy getting some of the logistics sorted, including what cakes to bake and what type of refreshments to offer… I am open to special requests!

On the deck and in the house three Saskatchewan artists will be featured this year: Parsons-Dietrich Pottery returns with their latest creations, and Glenda Loustel will also be back to share her fused glass. In addition I have invited Donna Cutler from the Saskatoon area to share her thread painted landscapes. It promises to be a huge event – invitations are being distributed as I am typing this post.

The Open Studio event takes place on June 27th and June 28th, 2014. Here is your link to the Open Studio Poster 2014 with all the details. Looking forward to welcoming familiar faces and first time visitors.

Looking forward to the open house. I hope to work some on my project this weekend. 🙂

    • Can’t wait to see the completed piece, Susan. You have worked hard on designing your final piece which is the hard part. Putting it together will be easy, as all the planning and sampling really helps it come together.

    • Hi Jody, Wish you lived closer, too. Looks like I won’t have an Open Studio next year – I am fully booked with travel and teaching till the end of July 2015 and won’t be able to offer the design workshops during the winter of 2015… unless I can split myself in two.
