…from Barcelona where I am exploring some of Antoni Gaudi’s architectural wonders. Day three of four promises to be sunny and glorious again as we make our way to La Segrada de Familia. My camera is working overtime – watch for more details on my travel blog coming soon.

Wow!!! I am soooo jealous! I have wanted to see Gaudi’s work since my first year in university when my Spanish prof, Jose Antonio Alcalde Valverde ( an amazing artist in his own right ( Valverde Studio Gallery)) , introduced me to him as he too was from Barcelona. What a lovely way to end your wonderful holiday, Anna!

Yes, Helene – visiting some of Gaudi’s work has been awe-inspiring. No matter how often I see the architecture and details in books I never grow tired of it. But to experience it in person is a spiritual experience. I am sorting my 3,000 + images and will be posting some summaries soon! I promise.

… Actually: Gaudi inspired Hundertwasser to some degree. I found out about Gaudi when I studied Klimt and was looking for contemporaries of his across Europe. I also found C. R. MacIntosh and his wife Margaret MacDonald in Glasgow. Gaudi captured my attention and my imagination… This has been a dream come true!
