After spending a leisurely drive around Kootenay Lake in Southern BC and running around Calgary for the last several days I am now in Lethbridge, AB and this is the view from my window this morning at 6 a. m. It is the week I am teaching in Southern Alberta. One more time of co-teaching the QJCP (Quilt Judge Certification Programme) for the CQA/ACCÂ (Canadian Quilters’ Association) with my teaching partner of 6 years, Kathy Bissett.
We arrived yesterday around noon and immediately got down to business setting up the classroom. It is becoming a routine now and selecting samples for our lectures this morning and and afternoon was not as much of a difficult task as it has presented in the past.
We are about ready to head off for breakfast and on to the classroom where we will welcome 10 eager students from across the country. The next three days will be long, packed with information and sharing and a lot of late nights evaluating classroom performance. I will check back as time allows.
If you are in Southern Alberta this week, or better yet, if you live here try to check out Quilt Canada at the University of Lethbridge campus. The NJS (National Juried show is scheduled to Open Thursday, June 4th and runs through Saturday, June 6th. Along with that a number of additional exhibits focused on textile arts, a merchants’ mall and so much else can be found at the campus. You will be “Blown Away” – just as the this year’s theme advertises!
Hope to see you in Lethbridge this week!
