Just a week ago we arrived in Lethbridge. I unloaded quilts, judging workshop supplies and so much more. Today I am leaving this ideal Quilt Canada 2015 venue where we shared learning opportunities and many social encounters. Where quilters gather excitement and joy is ever present!
Today I am not only saying good bye and thank you to this years’ Quilt Canada local organizing committee but to the CQA/ACC board and my role as QJCP (Quilt Judge Certification Programme) instructor. for the past 6 years. About a year ago I made the decision that this would be my last year. It passed in a flash and I feel this is the right time (if there is ever such a thing) to pass the torch. I can’t wait to see where Joyce Brown and Judy Villett will take the programme from here. The apprentice judges are in excellent hands and I look forward to crossing paths with everyone as we judge the same venues and possibly teach at the same events.
It is time to turn our wheels north and head toward Calgary. Tomorrow I meet up with my wonderful design students from last winter. The group will gather to share what has transpired over the last six month. I can’t wait to see everyone!
Safe travels to all leaving Lethbridge today, to the CQA/ACC Board of Directors and thank you to the countless volunteers who have worked tirelessly to deliver a flawless conference. Thank you, Kathy Bissett, for all your support and never-ending energy in co-delivering the QJCP.
It has been wonderful to be back in Alberta – I loved the ever changing sky with its big fluffy clouds, the mist rising from the coulees and the friendly smiles all around!
See you all next year at Quilt Canada 2016 in Mississauga, ON.
