…is just the place to rejuvenate and gather energy after last week’s busy schedule. I love poppies and iris and when I arrived in Edmonton I was immediately struck by how far along the gardens are.
I have always had a passion for poppies. When I lived in Calgary poppies grew in our perennial bed without much effort. Moving to Saskatchewan I brought along some precious seeds, but they never took. Our property at the lake is more shaded by trees and as a result I have not been able to grow my favorite flowers for the past eight summers.
I was delighted to find my friend’s garden in full bloom. Enjoy today’s short slide show of mostly poppies. I am exploring the city, picking up art supplies and some silk fabric before I have the honor and pleasure of judging this year’s entries of the Edmonton and District Quilt Show. Hope to see you there!
Gorgeous poppy pictures. Mine have some nice fat buds on them so should open soon.

Oh, I am so envious! What I wouldn’t give to have even just one poppy plant in my garden…

Happy to hear all is well and that you are having some down time before the Edmonton show. Poppy time is happy time for me too.
I’m off to Calgary on Sat.
Enjoy your time.
