…I love this time of year! The Aurora Borealis notification goes off on Colin’s iPad and there are no long debates whether it is too cold to venture out. Last night Lady Aurora put on a stellar performance: I came home with about 200 images – this is one of my favorites.
Back to my preparations for the Open Studio! The oven is getting a good workout…
They are lovely. I used to work shifts at the Edmonton International Airport and have to drive home in the middle of the night. The Aurora would come out and I would have to pull over to the side of the road and watch them. I couldn’t keep driving or I would have had an accident. They are so beautiful and waving and constantly changing. Don’t see them much here in Halifax and on the rare occasion it will be cloudy. But I have those lovely memories of driving home at night and can still see them in my minds eye.

Thanks for sharing your memories, Johanna. The last three years have been amazing – Aurora Borealis and night time photography, a winning combination. I trust summer has arrived in Nova Scotia…? It is quite warm here – pretty much the way it is during every Open Studio event. Wish you could come!

Thanks, Elinor! It was thrilling to be out last night. We didn’t know where to point our cameras. The Northern Lights haven’t danced like that in some time!
