Studio Sale Update II or Finding Inspiration in Purging the Space…

IMG_0665

No, I have not dropped off the face of the earth… but am ready to escape the daily grind of sorting and purging. The last week went by in a flash and I decided to take the Easter weekend off from crawling around the studio storage space and sorting samples and handouts that were once helpful but have not been touched in the last 5 – 10 years.

A few minutes ago I sent off my final OK for the Kantha book. This time I had 24 hours to finalize the proof… and any changes were highly discouraged. Luckily there were no changes to be made… now it’s off to the printers!

I dream of a Zen environment, clean surfaces, light walls and no clutter (perhaps asking for no deadlines is pushing my dream too far…) – my resolve for our next place is getting stronger by the day. Meanwhile the studio sale continues. I have added a number of art supplies to the line up. This includes sketchbooks, various papers for mixed media artists, drawing and painting tools and more. I have advertised with CARFAC members and various guilds but please feel free to come out and bring your friends if you have not received an invitation from anyone or any of your groups.

Here are the details once more:

Dear Saskatchewan Quilt / Art Guild members and Fiber artists,

You are cordially invited to a giant studio supply, book and art sale at Anna Hergert’s Studio.
Dates:
Friday, April 21st    noon – 4 pm
Saturday, April 22nd    noon – 4 pm
Friday, April 28th   noon – 4 pm
Saturday, April 29th    noon  – 4 pm
Or call 306.631.8539 to set up a special day and time if the above dates are not suitable.
Everything must go. No reasonable offers on books  (still about 600 titles – art reference, art practice, embroidery, design, quilting, felting, sewing, mixed media techniques), equipment (tables, chairs, craft cupboard, small washing machine, computer desk – all like new) and art work (framed and textile hangings) will be refused.
Please feel free to forward this email to friends, guild members and fellow artists who may be interested. Please note: Once May 1st arrives the studio will be closed and all left over inventory will be discarded.
Looking forward to seeing everyone!

Anna

Anna, I’m too far away for a home visit. Is there a website with some of your work for sale? I don’t need any more notions, etc. But would be interested in a one of a kind.

    • Bonnie, I took my website with galleries down last year as everyone gravitated toward this blog site. If you provide me with a budget amount and an idea if you prefer representational or abstract art I will send images. Email me privately and we can start the conversation. Thanks for your interest.

In case you haven’t heard. While Anna needs to purge there are some great opportunities to add a great piece of Anna’s to your home or some sought after books to your library or some supplies to spark your creativity or make your personal studio space more functional.

    • Thanks for re-blogging my post, Elinor! – Unfortunately, my studio space is not set up to provide much insight into functionality… this sale has the entire space filled with books and art work only. 😉
