…for Art Quilt Campus 2017, Week 2.Anticipation was building for me. I was well prepared today with the classroom set up and rooms assigned which left me with time to spare to explore the garden with my camera.
Soon 4 pm arrived and cars rolled into the parking lot. Just like every year, there were countless hugs, joyful sounds from friends reconnecting and a flurry of activity. We welcome several new participants and anticipation is building.
Tomorrow Kit will join us – she was delayed by her daughter-in-law’s early labour which resulted in another grandchild for Kit. We can’t wait to celebrate with her and see pictures of the precious bundle.
Greetings go out to Sharilyn who has to miss this year’s gathering. Sharilyn is in our thoughts and we will make sure we stay connected throughout the week!
After unpacking and dinner, we gathered in the sewing studio for our first evening presentation. Susan L. Griffin from Moosomin was very kind to agree and bring the body of work she created for her exhibition titled “Dis-Ease”. Thank you, Susan, for sharing with us all your experience of battling Lyme disease and moving forward by creating work that touches the soul!
The evening concluded with everyone’s favourite night cap. And, as if a gong went off… the lounge cleared at 10 pm sharp. What will I do with myself ? I have to change my internal clock after last week’s late night conversations… 😉 I turn to my daily blog update and head to bed early as well!
Great pic of the beetle. Glad you got to bed a little earlier last night.
