Each year I realize by this time that Art Quilt Campus weeks one and two are each unique in their own right and not two weeks or one year to the next are the same!
Today was a day that went by in a blur. With everyone now in the sewing studio, I was kept pretty busy with consultations and special demos and suggestions. I didn’t realize till late in the day that I never took any images in the studio.
Here is what happened at the Abbey in Muenster, SK on August 31st: Morning “huddle” with the quote of the day, a short reading pertaining to creativity followed by circulating among the participants which continued after lunch.
At 4:30 pm Fr. Demetrius gathered a group for a tour of St. Peter and Paul Cathedral. Following dinner, we gathered to go over logistics with our private group website created last year. Everyone is hoping to access the site and post more regularly. We concluded the day with a social gathering where everyone shared how they came to quilting and textile art.
The plan to gather for our annual group picture was abandoned when it became seemingly impossible to bring participants together at any given time of the day. We will try again tomorrow morning. 😉
Meanwhile I “stole” 20 minutes for an after dinner walk to the garden where I practiced my “Good Eye”, otherwise known as Miksang photography.
