I have been absent from this blog for a while and I don’t really have any excuses… Yes, I got hyper-focused in the kitchen evaluating my eating habits and the individual foods I eat. It was time – more frequent migraines reminded me that it was high time to push the restart button and cut out several foods that have proven to have an adverse affect on my health.
For the first time in years we found ourselves snowed in last week Monday. It was lovely and quiet but the huge amound of snow reminded us that spring is not going to arrive anytime soon. Fast-forward to this week: The sun is out and the ice on the roads is melting.
I found myself with extra energy this afternoon and set out on a long overdue walk. It didn’t take long to get excited about spending time in nature. To be honest, I love this time of transitions. At no other time of the year can I find solid snow banks juxtaposed by icy crystals and unique formations of mud and ice. There is hidden beauty in all of it!
The excitement built further when I found a harbinger of spring (…no, this year the crocuses are still hiding under deep snow banks – last year they were out by this date… fond memories!). My harbinger of spring today was a branch with tight buds on the ends. Amazing and a reassurance that warmer days are coming soon!
