This was our third time in New Brunswick in a little over ten years. The Hopewell Rocks were on our bucket list each time. The first time we attempted to visit this Canadian Natural Historic site we were deterred by the high tide warnings.
The next time our plans had to change due to time pressure caused by a vehicle break down (a recurring theme, or so it appears…).
This time we had a brief window in the weather and low tide times. We headed out of Moncton and arrived at the Hopewell Rocks about 20 minutes later. I opted to walk down the lovely path, Colin took the shuttle that seemed to zoom down the path at lightning speed. We descended the staircase to finally experience the Rocks from their lowest level, right on the ocean floor.
The afternoon light was a little low which made it difficult to capture the Rocks and do them justice. But, processing the images from my “real” camera would take too long… hope you enjoy today’s exploration. We tried to return to the Rocks the next morning but heavy rain that lasted all day made us hunker down and visit with our friends instead. We plan to return the Hopewell Rocks during morning light one day!
Anna, what an incredible photography! You sure have an eye for the unusual textures, details, and composition.
