A year ago my friend Debbie from Vernon sent me a lovely surprise, a beautiful rayon blend scarf.
Yesterday it magically made its way to the front of my fabric cupboard and I decided to transform it into a Kantha scarf. There is nothing like a last minute project that distracts from packing for Art Quilt Campus…š
I folded the square scarf to create three layers and began joining them with running stitch rows.
I consider the outcome a success and an afternoon well spent! I love the softness of the fabric and look forward to wearing it this fall.
In the morning I finished a challenge piece for AQC. I started the sketches for it in February but with the large church commission at the time this little 12″ square piece was set aside. The theme is Father D. and I was inspired by our guest master at St. Peter’s Abbey in Muenster, SK, a man of many talents… hence the depiction of a Ninja Master…
I can’t wait for him to see all the challenge pieces! He has a great sense of humour.
The car is packed… last minute treats have been baked and after a good night’s rest we are off to Art Quilt Campus tomorrow.
Check back during the week. I plan to post regularly.
Safe travels; have a great week! Looking forward to seeing the activity.

Thanks, Nelly. This is going to be a great week once again. 16 participants, all have attended at least twice before. So looking forward to it!
