I pulled out my suitcase and started to organize the many gifts for family in Germany. In just eight days I will board the plane and head to Calgary to catch my flight to Frankfurt. There will not be much room for my clothes… good thing I am also bringing my carry on!
Anni, my grand-niece will be the biggest recipient. Besides the hexagon quilt, I have been busy creating doll clothes for the Cabbage Patch doll that I picked up for her two years ago. Just lately I hunkered down and began knitting a few things for the rest of the family. Handmade socks hopefully will distract from all the other things Anni will be unwrapping. As a last-minute addition, I realized that I had enough fabric left from the quilt backing to create a nighty for Anni and… one for the doll! Purple is Anni’s current favourite colour!
On the homefront, our time has been filled with laughter and amazement: Last week Tuesday our brand-new puppy Ash joined us. We picked her up in Saskatoon where we met her breeder and this little 800 gr. bundle of energy immediately demanded a place in our hearts! At the moment sleep eludes us somewhat but this shall pass and soon she will be completely acclimatized. She now weighs 1 kg and is thriving. She is a great leash walker and we know that our winter will be lively!
Ash, our Shih Tzu, always ready for play or a treat…
What a cute little puppy Anna! Great for Colin to have around while you’re gone.
Have a safe and wonderful trip! Hope to see you this winter!
