…Two places of great interest in the Saarland, a region in Germany of great interest and amazing natural beauty!
A relatively short drive from my sister’s home in Remagen makes it possible to visit this beautiful region bordering France and Luxembourg.
We spent two nights at Gästehaus Blasius in Merzig to ensure reduced travel times to our destinations.
Here are a few images from Villaroy & Boch, the world famous and historic ceramics factory that goes back over 250 years! Even the Titanic had ceramic floor tiles, simulating mosaics, installed on board.
Our next stop was Saarburg where we enjoyed a walk around the old castle and town, despite the rather chilly weather.

You seem to find the most interesting places to photograph. There are so many places to see and explore, thanks for taking us with you.

Thanks for sharing Anna. Villeroy & Boch dinnerware was one of the suppliers I dealt with in my former working life in the Buying office at Eatons. Very interesting to see the original building as well as the tiles and other things they made.
