As Summer Approaches…

Life does not stand still despite Covid-19 regulations and considerations that are heavily influenced by this unforeseen situation. Last August my AQR (Art Quilt Residency) group and I set the dates for the 2020 event. These days the decision whether to proceed or not is about to come down… I just sent out the monthly newsletter I have been composing in my head for a couple of weeks.

Here is a great image I found on Facebook this morning. It puts certain considerations into perspective, don’t you think?

These points helped me greatly in composing the newsletter.

This morning started with What’sApp messages from family. Eliana, our grand daughter turns 6! We are disappointed we are not able to celebrate with the family but I am sure others are in the same situation. Our camping trips are on hold indefinitely.

Eliana’s big birthday smile… we sent new clothes. The flowery dress with sunhat seems to have been tossed aside. The hit in the package is clearly the carnival costume my sister insisted on bringing to Canada from Germany last fall. Eliana is a dress-up girl, the more sparkles, the better!

From Germany this drawing arrived from Anni (3 1/2 years):

The title: “One person in the camper… ” She is clearly aware of physical distancing!

Those images keep us going! We feel so very fortunate, despite everything, to live in these times and be able to connect via social media.

What’s new in the studio? I am excited to share that I have rearranged some furniture to set up my ZOOM consultation corner. I watched a valuable video on how to take advantage of natural lighting and setting up a suitable background. I can honestly say that it was time well invested in preparation for my next ZOOM consultation. On that note, thank you to those who have made contact and asked for the questionnaire.

And just because we have had great weather and another Miksang meeting last Saturday I decided to share a few images from the Flowers & Weeds theme!

Nature keeps changing perpetually. It provides us with tremendous inspiration and reminds us of how resilient we all are. We make decisions, adjust to conditions and move forward, come what may! This is what I concentrate on every day. Let’s see how we progress!

Check in again soon! I am “cooking up” a very affordable learning opportunity for creatives. Details in the next blog post! Keep smiling, stay safe and spread kindness!

I have such lovely memories of AQC and would enjoy another visit if there’s ever space on the roster! Your Zoom consultation corner looks great. I often pop in to enjoy your photos and musings, but don’t often comment because I don’t ever remember my WP password and it’s a pain to look up! I made the extra effort today because I think it’s about time to let you know that your posts are appreciated. 😊 Have a happy day!

    • Hi Carole, thanks for making the effort to comment! It is always great to hear from you. Yes, AQC is weighing heavily on mine and this year’s registrants’ minds. We are at the decision making point… while AQR is not taking place in Muenster at the Abbey I am working on a virtual version. We keep our options open for next year but virtual options will be the way of the future. We are so fortunate to have options in this time and age. These options make it possible to stay in touch and even find opportunities for learning. I am excited about these new options and challenges! Stay safe! Virtual hugs for you and your mom!

    • It seems that dog clippers are in high demand! I am on my third order… first order could not clear customs according to the shipping info, second set was lost by Canada Post… these ones are professional grade I ordered through Airmiles.
The short hair was a must after three months and six days since my last appointment🤪
