“Design Inspiration in Early 20th Century Art and Architecture” Are you fascinated by the style of a particular artist? Is a certain view of the down-town sky line of the city you live in breath taking to you every time you see it? On your travels near or far have you experienced a vista that will not leave your memory? This slide presentation will provide you with ideas and suggestions on how to capture your personal experiences and translate them into original textile art. Lecture is accompanied by actual work.
“Environmental Influences & Creativity” is a digital lecture covering various aspects of the artist’s inspiration. The accompanying lecture guides the attending audience through the artist’s life and influences instrumental in her work. Lecture is accompanied by actual work.
“Fanning the Fires of Creativity” A day without creativity is a day not lived to its full potential. Ergo: “A creative act a day” is the motto Anna Hergert lives by! Finding inspiration, staying motivated, overcoming creative blocks, fanning the fire of desire, and fighting self-doubt are important topics any fine craft artisan has encountered. How do you stay focused and excited about your work? Anna shares tricks and proven techniques based on the model established by Leonardo da Vinci to keep the artist within alive and full of enthusiasm. The digital presentation is accompanied by actual work and provides plenty of opportunity to ask personal questions!
“Innovative Connections” Joining individual hand and machine embellished pieces with the help of innovative and ordinary hardware and household finds is a trademark of Anna Hergert’s work. The artist presents digital images and actual art quilts while touching on the key elements of design.
“Inspired by Colour & Texture” Art quilts that are inspired by the colour and texture of hand-dyed and hand-painted fabrics will catch everybody’s eye. Principals of design and special techniques are the discussion topic.
“Landscape Impressions” A selection of representational and abstract art quilts with the rural and urban landscape theme will be presented. Discussion of techniques is the key subject of this trunk show.
Details: All presentations include digital images and actual work. Duration of one presentation is 60 – 90 minutes + question and answer session of up to 30 minutes (90 – 120 minutes total). For the convenience of the organizing guild or group Anna provides her own digital equipment.
